My humans hope this page will answer some questions and excite you about coming to Hinterlander. When trying to determine Hinterlander's approximate location on other maps of the area, keep in mind that Hinterlander sits about halfway up Linville Mountain between Laurel Branch and Pond Branch and is accessible via Route 221 only. What's there to do? The ACTIVITIES section of our site provides lists of things to do and places to go including recreation spots, park maps, sports options (even pickleball!), museums, wineries, family activities, and a bunch of towns in the area to visit for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Please note some recreational spots are seasonal and may still be recovering from the hurricane, we recommend you contact them directly when planning your visit. Being fire-conscious while staying in the mountains is just common sense. Extra care must be taken to avoid a fire situation that can easily get out of hand given the natural accumulation of dry debris found in wild areas including Pisgah National Forest. The fiery colors of sunset in Autumn are the most spectacular blaze in the mountains. Help us protect Pisgah National Forest. BEFORE You Light a Fire: Please check the Fire Danger level in Pisgah National Forest to see if there are any fire warnings or restrictions in place. Even in a contained/controlled space like Hinterlander's fire pit, checking with USDA Forest Services website (link below) is a good idea. National Forests in NC Alerts & Notices (usda.gov) Wildfire Safety Linville Mountain Acres HOA warns, if you become aware of a fire on the mountain, you should: immediately call 9-1-1 and report it begin to exit Linville Mountain Acres (take your dogs!) notify neighbors as you go. The windows of our great room reach from floor to ceiling for colder days where staying inside is best. You can do it from the couch, next to the fireplace, and while still in your PJs if you like.
