Buck / Buckley the Mountain Dog
Hinterlander's Canine Host
-
Born in 2020
-
Border Collie and Hinterlander Haiku Poet Laureate
-
Best Friend back at home is neighbor Luke
-
Buck's most frequent canine guests include Piper and Lulu
-
Aficionado of sticks and finding fresh bear scat
(then rolling in it much to the excitement of his humans) -
Hobbies include defending mango trees from squirrels and giving surprise "snoots" to everyone.
-
Turn Ons: Long walks in the forest & happy hour after on the deck where he is told he is a "good boy"
-
Turn Offs: None! He's an easy-going, friendly dog (but please don't tell the squirrels that)
Buck's Buddies
Whispers of the Wind
Tiny twigs and leaves,
Danced in gale's wild embrace,
Nature’s laughter sings.
Clouds gather like kin,
Storm-faced and full of mischief,
Yet sun peeks to play.
Wooden roofs they bow,
But heartbeats rise through chaos --
Laughter shared like tea.
Neighbors rush to help,
Mud-splashed boots and earnest hugs,
Joy found in the mess.
Raindrops pain the past,
Yet glimmers spark on puddles --
Hope reflects clearly.
Hinterlander Haiku Poet Laureate and Poetry Podcaster Buckley The Mountain Dog invites fellow canine poets to submit their haiku, poems, free verse, etc.
Poetry and artwork done by human puppies (kids) is also welcome -- especially if it features wildlife or the elusive local gnomes.
If your canine family member has been a guest at Buck's favorite mountain retreat -- send Buck a photo of your dog's stay at Hinterlander. Be sure to include name(s) and any details Buck or his humans should know. - Thank you!
