With a spacious patio/deck that encircles the house, glass doors, and a great room that offers floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights, Hinterlander invites the outside in allowing guests to enjoy the scenery in all seasons and weather.
Hinterlander is a 3-level, single-family home with modern finishes and cozy details. It can accommodate a family of 9 (sleeping up to 6 adults comfortably) or be the perfect getaway/retreat for you and that someone special.
Located in Pisgah National Forest, Hinterlander was built on the western side of Linville Mountain and borders the Linville Gorge Wilderness. This is an ideal location for nature lovers, trail explorers, and adventurous hikers as well as those who want to explore all the towns, vineyards, historical sights, and cultural events the region has to offer.
Hinterlander is also perfect for homebodies. Our gated community offers a quiet, peaceful setting away from neighbors and noise. You can find the perfect spot to enjoy a good book and mountain view -- or sit beside a roaring bonfire with the whole family and watch the stars.
This smoke-free, dog-friendly rental home is located within Linville Mountain Acres -- a private, gated community -- and provides a great room, living room, kitchen, bedrooms, downstairs den, and a vast yard and outdoor space. Hinterlander's Great Room overlooks the enormous stone patio and fire pit with the western slopes and top of Linville Mountain serving as a dramatic backdrop. Six skylights, glass double doors, and side windows fill the space with light and views.
Encircled by deck/patio, everyone can find their favorite outdoor spot to sit and soak up the surroundings. Seasonal views include the back deck with a southwest view of the valley that stretches from Ashford NC toward Marion NC. And to the northeast, the Laurel Branch waterfall can be seen from the patio and great room when it is flowing.

The Linville Gorge Wilderness Area -- dubbed the "Grand Canyon of the East" -- borders Hinterlander property.
This protected wilderness attracts visitors to walk, hike, explore, photograph, and record its beauty. Whether visitors travel by car along the top ridge of Linville Mountain to take in the gorge from the lookouts above, or they travel by foot down the trails or and through the gorge below, there is special view for everyone to find.
