The Parkway meanders for 469 miles, protecting a diversity of plants and animals, and providing opportunities for enjoying all that makes this region of the country so special.

 

The Blue Ridge Parkway is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.  While not officially a national park, it is part of the National Park System (NPS), it has been the most visited part of  NPS since 1946 (with the exception of 1949).
